Amsterdam Gemeenteraad - City Council (15:00-16:15)

Starting March 2022, Itay is serving as City councilor for the pan European Volt Party in the Municipality of Amsterdam .Itay is also a Cyber Strategy senior consultant for Deloitte; A Strategist with interest in digitalization, politics and sustainability, skilled in Hebrew and Arabic, experienced in management, volunteering, cyber security and politics.

Amsterdam Gemeenteraad – City Council

The city council is the highest governing body and consists of elected representatives of the people of Amsterdam. The city council determines the general policies of the City of Amsterdam and monitors if the College of Mayor and Alderpersons is properly implementing that policy. The College of Mayor and Alderpersons submits decisions to the council for approval. The council can respond to that in various ways or submit their own topics.

The majority of topics that are presented to the city council for decisions, are prepared beforehand in a city council committee. A city council committee is composed of the experts from the political parties. There are nine city council committees.
