BIT Habitat promotes urban innovation to respond to the social, economic, technological and environmental challenges facing our city, so that it becomes healthier, sustainable, competitive and equitable, while improving the quality of life of the people who inhabit it.
"Connectem Barcelona" is a pilot test to provide quality internet access to four hundred vulnerable households in the Trinitat Nova neighborhood (Nou Barris) and evaluate the impact of having a network connection and laptops, and if it improves when accompanied by training and training actions. The conclusions drawn will allow the definition and quantification of digital policies to eliminate the digital divide throughout the city.
The project is a pioneering initiative to fight against the new source of social inequality represented by digitalization, and that the COVID-19 pandemic has made more evident.
